[Shore] You are on the shore of the River. The river here seems somewhat treacherous. A path travels from north to south here, the south end quickly turning around a sharp corner.
>south
[Aragain Falls] You are at the top of Aragain Falls, an enormous waterfall with a drop of about 450 feet. The only path here is on the north end. A beautiful rainbow can be seen over the falls and to the east. There is a man-sized barrel here, which you might be able to enter.
If you get in the barrel, you will find the word 'Geronimo!' etched into the side of the barrel. Uttering 'Geronimo!' ("Wasn't he an Indian?") will send you over the falls in a barrel, where, some 450 feet below, you meet a number of unfriendly rocks and boulders, causing your immediate demise. Not a good thing.
Let's summarize: you are at the end of a path, your boat can not go upstream, going down results in death and clicking your heels together three times while saying "There's no place like home" does nothing. Here again, we must rely on information from Zork I. That version included a scepter, which, if you waved it around, provided the subtle hint of a rainbow appearing. In the classic game Adventure, waving the scepter causes a bridge to appear over a chasm. No scepter in this version...do we have anything even scepter-like? Yes, we have a stick, which is as close to a scepter as we are going to get. However, waving the stick anywhere else besides at the rainbow results in a non-committal "Very good" from the game, which provides no hint whatsoever as to the power of a stick. <heavy sigh> Don't ask too many questions.
>wave stick
Suddenly, the rainbow appears to become solid and, I venture, walkable (I think the giveaway was the stairs and banister).
So you know, waving it again will turn of the rainbow...make sure you don't do that when you are on it.

[Rainbow Room] You are on top of a rainbow (I bet you never thought you would walk on a rainbow), with a magnificent view of the falls. The rainbow travels east-west here.

As an interesting side note, some versions of the game changed the Rainbow Room to On the Rainbow, and still others that had the Rainbow Room included a silly joke about Rockefeller Center. Well, I thought it was interesting...never mind.

End of Rainbow
At the end of the rainbow is a pot of gold.
Nice...rainbow, pot of gold, no unruly leprechaun to fight off...some days it is good to be the adventurer.
And the parser, true to form, doesn't understand pot of gold. What can I say? Some days are better than others.
